  I organize hikes which I post here about once a month (see "May/June Hikes for All") and I also have an e-mail list. These hikes are no-pressure, all-levels-welcome trips which usually have about 5-10 friendly participants. If you'd like something bigger and more stringently organized, try groups.yahoo.com/group/BayAreaHiking/ . There are three or four regular hike leaders who post there and have TONS of experience leading folks through the woods. Have fun!!!! The bay area is MAGNIFICENT!

    um you ARE in a Bay Area hiking group hahaha!!! I would say you'd have to look no further. I met all my hiking friends through tribe. Good luck to you and hope you enjoy your adventures out here!!

      I was gonna say the same thing! You can use this forum to organize, suggest, cajole, beg and etc about organizing a hike. Plus, with enough time ahead of the hike, you'll get some participation for sure!
