Given all this rain the waterfalls should be great.
I would like to know about waterfalls in the east bay that I could visit or hike to.
I'm sure some have been posted before, but I do not remember.
Names and directions would be helpful. Thanks

Sun, January 27, 2008 - 12:36 PMMt. Diablo has some excellent falls! I went about a week ago, and it's a great time to go. A little squishy, but well worth it. Here's a link: www.bahiker.com/eastbayhik...canyon.html

Has anyone done this hike lately? Are the waterfalls still running?

Sun, January 27, 2008 - 6:57 PMI second Mt. Diablo. The north side-also known as the Regency Street trailhead is a good place to start. -

Mon, January 28, 2008 - 9:33 PMMurietta Falls, but it's a BUTT KICKER, 11 mile round trip. Highest waterfalls in the Bay area and worth the hike. But dress warm...it's COLD when you finally make it to the falls. Trail might be muddy this time of year. Trailhead starts in Livermore.
I did this hike a few years ago around this time of year and we were knee deep in snow by the time we got to the falls so best to be prepared. Might be a better hike to do when the weather warms up a bit.
