Where is there to camp, hike and swim (preferably skinny dip) somewhere within about 3 hours from the city? Thanks.

Re: Camping, hiking and swimming?
Wed, July 25, 2007 - 2:06 AMJust came back from Big Sur. There a couple of swimming holes at Pheiffer State Park in Big Sur. One of them is a mile hike up the gorge trail, but it was pretty crowded when I was there. You can always travel farther up and find a secluded spot. A ranger told me that nudism is tolerated at most of the beaches, but only at the south ends. Saw people swimming and snorkeling at Andrew Molera Beach in both the ocean and the adjacent river. Chico, Ca also has a lot of river swimming holes. You can easily find them on the Web.
